Deck the Halls Sustainably: Eco-friendly Christmas Decor Ideas to Celebrate the Season Responsibly

I’m so thrilled to be back posting to my blog this week as it’s been a little while since I’ve been able to publish any updates. It’s been a whirlwind of a few months but here I am, back and raring to go!

My Christmas posts tend to be some of my most popular and frequently visited, so I wanted to go all out this year and share some new content featuring sustainable Christmas styling with you!

How to trim the Christmas budget without compromising on festive cheer

You don’t need me to tell you that with a cost of living crisis in the UK, and rising concerns over the sustainability of our planet, people are conscious about not over-spending or acting wastefully this Christmas season.

That’s where my sustainable Christmas styling for 2023 comes in!

Paperstarlight lantern above dining table

I was fortunate to be given a Paper Star Lantern from Paperstarlights to style in my home and was inspired to create a colourful display above my dining table, just in time for the holiday season.

Paperstarlights are a company who specialise in beautiful handmade star lights, made from paper in India. Each star is handmade, resulting in a beautifully unique pendant light.

I was gifted the Damask lantern in Aquamarine and decided to style my starlight as a feature above my dining table. I also added in some paper decorations, which I can take down and reuse for years to come.

Transform your Christmas Tablescape using existing tableware

Instead of buying new items, this year I am styling my Christmas dining table with tableware I already own and a dusky pink table cloth and runner that I’ve had for a while now. It can be tempting to buy all new accessories when decorating for Christmas, but using what you already have with some festive decorations can work just as well!

I also created a small Christmas vignette in the corner of my dining room using items I already had around the house. The old wicker chest is from my son’s bedroom (usually used as a toy box) and the gold star and plants normally live in the sitting room.
