Good evening, hope you’ve had a relaxing Sunday and are not currently stranded somewhere in the snow! I thought I’d post another homemade Christmas gift that I like to make to inspire you. It’s very quick and simple to make and comes courteousy of Nigella Lawson. I must admit that I love to watch Nigella on the TV – I find her incredibly relaxing and think the poetic way she talks about food is strangely enticing. Apologies again for the quality of the photo. It was taken rather hurriedly on my blackberry before I handed the gifts out to my guests!
Christmas spiced salt
Just mix together sea salt, crushed chilli flakes, red peppercorns and star anise. Pop it into a container (once again mine are from Ikea) and customise as you choose with ribbon, mini baubles – whatever takes your fancy!
Check out Nigella Christmas for fuller instructions and other great ideas such as vanilla sugar. Another favourite in our household.
