First impressions

I’ve been inspired recently to decorate the entrance way to our home. This is largely due to the fact that our cat has placed small black paw marks all over the white walls but also because I’d like people to feel welcomed and relaxed as soon as they enter the house.

Whilst I was googling entrance halls and porches, I soon realised that many images feature an ‘ideal’ entrance space, mainly an area that is quite large. Well, the entrance to our houe is tiny. About 1m x 0.5m to be exact. So here are my ideas for creating a welcoming and unique entrance space for smaller home entrances.

Be smart with your storage. Although your space may be small, you can maximise storage by using the full length of one wall. Be careful to leave an open space in between the centre of two storage units to guard against creating a cramped environment.

A simple white table is all you need to display a few treasured accessories for a personal touch.

I’ve been thinking of buying a customised wall sticker for the wall in our entrance way for a while. I just need to think of what to say…

So here are some of my top tips for styling a small entrance way. What are your tips? Leave a comment and share your ideas.
