Celebrate gold part I

One thing that I’ve really enjoyed about blogging over the past few years, is seeing how it has influenced my life when it comes to being more creative or adventurous with my sense of style in the home. There was a time when I would not have considered using much colour in our home for example – I was very much a ‘neutrals’ kind of girl. Don’t get me wrong, there are still avenues to explore when it comes to being more bold in my choice of colour but I’m pleased with the way I’ve seen myself grow so far.

It seems that gold is a popular trend on interiors – especially in the States. I’m not sure if that is just due to the fact that most of my daily reads happen to be from over the pond or not but it’s something that I’ve noticed. As a consequence, I’ve seen lots of pins and DIYs featuring gold accessories for the home and so the other day I bought myself some gold spray paint from the DIY shop and have a simple DIY that I’m going to try out soon. That’s saved for ‘Celebrate gold part II’!

Until then, let’s take a look at how you might include some gold accents in your own home…

These sweet nesting tables look striking in an inoffensive way when placed against a mainly white backdrop.

If monochrome is more your thing, why not switch in gold in place of white?

I like the way that gold is versatile enough to fit in with a soft scheme of natural woods and white, as well as making a more prominent appearance in the black and gold image earlier.

Which is your favourite? I think my gold inspired DIY is going to be a simple vase to start with. Do you have any gold accents in your home?
