Hello there! How was your weekend? Toby and I had a lovely Sunday today in the sunshine. We started out with brunch followed by a long walk along the Thames to Hampton Court Palace. We hadn’t planned on going into the palace but managed to get free entry with Toby’s museum pass. Win. I’ve been to the palace quite a few times before but as a school teacher with 60 odd children in tow so it was a vastly different experience today! We spent most of our time in the palace rooms of King William 3rd. A period of British history that I know little about as I’ve always focussed on the Tudors before.
The architecture is amazing and being quite the history geek, I absolutely loved it. Add to that a good cup of tea and some cake in the palace cafe and the afternoon was set. I love unplanned days like today.
What did you do this weekend? Any other places you recommend we visit? I’m thinking of going to Kensington Palace next as we’ve not been there before so if you’ve been I’d be interested to know your thoughts.
Have a good Monday folks,
C.x

Kensington Palace is lovely, but for somewhere much smaller, and totally surprising I really recommend Leighton House in Holland Park. I posted about it last year https://changing-pages.com/2016/01/14/londons-hidden-gems-leighton-house-holland-park/ Follow it with a stroll around the park, not missing the Kyoto Japanese garden and then tea and cake in the cafe. One of my favourite things to do!
Thanks for the tip Angie! I’ll check it out.
