It’s been a while since I last shared a ‘today I’m inspired by’ post. I was doing some dutiful blog planning and checking though some of my most popular posts and it seems that you guys enjoy this series – so here is another instalment!
Toby and I went away for the bank holiday weekend and before we set off, I watched some DIY videos on You Tube as I haven’t made anything in a while. I found a brilliant video on Sophie Robinson’s channel called 5 creative interior design DIYs and loved how she had given an Ikea set of drawers a new lease of life.
We have some of these rather ugly Ikea chest of drawers in our spare bedroom, except that ours are slightly worse as they are not white but the ‘birch’ kind that were very popular when we bought our first property. My apologies if I’ve offended anyone out there who loves this range but I’ve fallen out of love with ours. Anyhow, after watching Sophie’s video, I’ve been inspired to up-cycle our chest of drawers and hope to make a start this weekend. I’m planning on painting the chest with chalk paint and then covering the front with some lovely wallpaper like the one Sophie has used. I asked her via her channel where she got it from and it’s Cole and Son should you want some for yourself.
So that’s my project for the weekend! There are 5 DIYs for you to try in the video so why not take a look for yourself and see if it inspires you to embark on a creative project of your own? I’ll let you know how I get on so be sure to share with me via social media if you give it a try too!
