Open plan kitchen/diner for a family of four
The brief for this project was to transform a tired family kitchen into a modern, functional space. Grey cabinets were chosen throughout and complimented with a stone splash back and sideboards. This lightened the space effectively and meant that the room had a neutral palette. This is ideal for family living as the space can be updated with accessories and pictures/photographs as and when necessary.
The grey cabinets were paired with silver pull handles on the doors and cup pull handles on the drawers. This provides a classic, contemporary look.
The family wanted to ‘bring the outside in’ as much as possible. This was achieved through including plants in the kitchen and dining area and using a natural stone colour for the flooring tiles. Wooden counter tops and accessories (such as chopping boards) were also added.
The open shelving creates an opportunity for adding personal touches through styling cookery books and other family knick knacks.
