Garden inspiration for summer evenings

This post is a hopeful, ‘wishful thinking’ post. The weather in London has been crazy over the past few days, with cold temperatures, drizzling rain and high winds. In June. Still, us Brits are used to such weather and I’m feeling more hopeful today as it’s possible to actually see the sun. Plus the weather man is saying that the weekend looks bright.

With this in mind, I’m bringing some romantic garden images to you today in order to inspire you should you wish to decorate your outside living space this summer. Toby and I don’t have a large garden and the house we are moving to has a very pretty but small garden too. However it’s easy to make any outside area welcoming and relaxing in the summer evenings with some careful lighting, no matter what the size of your space.

Garden 5Whilst I’d love to have a hammock surrounded with fairy lights in our garden, our space just isn’t big enough to fit one. We can use lighting in other ways to enhance our outdoors though, be that through stringing up some fairy lights along the fence, or floating candles in a tin bucket. These ideas are inexpensive yet effective and so well worth a try.

I’ll be back on Friday with some more garden inspiration as I share some images of our garden and a rather fetching fire pit that Toby and I had fun using last weekend.
