How to keep your tulips standing tall

Tulips 1

I don’t know what the weather is like where you are, but in London it is freeeeezing this week. In fact it’s been pretty dark and rainy so far this year. However, I’m encouraged by the fact that we’ve been enjoying some odd patches of glorious sunshine here and there and it seems as if spring is finally on it’s way. I’m sure you’ve noticed that tulips are starting to come into season and are often on offer at the supermarket; so they are an inexpensive way to add a burst of colour into your home during these last few weeks of winter.

However, tulips have a tendency to droop once placed in a vase. So how can you keep them standing nice and tall?

The solution is a simple one. Pop a 1p piece in the bottom of the vase. I have no idea why this works but it does! Give it a try and see for yourself!
