One of my main goals for 2019 is to build my online interior design business. I was fortunate enough to work with some lovely clients in 2018 in their homes around Surrey/London, which I really enjoyed. This year I am looking to continue in-home consultations but am also planning to develop my business through providing online interior design services. I’ve been working really hard on developing my skills and creating an online platform to enable me to do this over the past 6 months. I’m very pleased to say that I am now up and running and looking forward to taking on some new clients!
I thought I’d share some examples of my work to give you an inside peek into the e-design that I’m offering this year.

This is one of the mood boards I’ve created recently for a client who wanted a living room re-design with a budget of £2,500. The tv, log burner and rug are already owned by the client and the online site I use for my e-design means that the client was able to upload pictures of their current living room and furniture. This allowed me to see what they already have or could re-use and then plan for some updates with the money they had in their budget.
The client wanted some new seating in a transitional style – meaning that their style is a mixture of traditional and contemporary. I found a great 4 seater sofa in a light grey fabric from DFS (it’s also currently on sale!) The legs of the sofa and overall design are traditional but the colour caters for more contemporary tastes. I did the same with the darker grey ‘snuggler’ chair – it’s fairly traditional is style but the size and colour give a more contemporary feel.
After designing the space, I sent it back to the client who let me know their feedback on the overall design. I send the mood board to my clients and also provide a service whereby they can see each item of furniture/accessory that I am suggesting for the space. They can review the price, colour etc and let me know how they feel about it. The package I offer also allows for a second design of the space, so that the client can view both and then choose their favourite.
If you are interested in viewing my design packages, you can see full pricing details and the details of each package by clicking below the image.
I absolutely loved planning this living room and am excited to do more with other clients in future. I’m also so proud that I’m finally set up to do e-design, as this is something I’ve been wanting to do, and planning for, for a long time. It’s been a pipe dream and part of my ‘side hustle’ for a number of years now so be able to finally offer e-design is a dream come true!
What goals or projects are you working on this year? Let me know in the comments below.
