Today I’m inspired by…
I saw this in John Lewis the other day as I was wandering through the sofa department. It’s perfect for injecting some colour into the home this spring don’t you think? I’d add it to my ‘spring is sprung’ collection if I could! Image: John Lewis: Prism small sofa.

Sunday night feeling
My inspiration for tonight is taken from these verses. Not so long ago my dad asked me to read an obituary in the local newspaper. I have to admit that his request wasn’t met with enthusiasm! However, I read what he showed me and was completely awestruck by what I discovered. Accompanying the obituary was…

Celebrate talent: Papercake makes
I was browsing through folksy yesterday when I came across a section I hadn’t seen before called ‘makes’. Here, creators share how to make some of their designs. Genius. This one immediately caught my eye: It’s by Papercake makes. You can check out the online shop here at Folksy and here on Etsy. I’m going…

To do:
I’m on holiday this week (half term) and as always I have a huge ‘to do’ list. Whilst I have the usual pile of marking/planning to do, I also have lots of small but important projects that I’ve wanted to complete for ages. I don’t get as much time as I’d like to focus on…

We spent some time at the Royal Botanical gardens in Kew and I’ve taken my inspiration for tonight’s post from there. Kew has an amazing tropical hot house and today…

Celebrate talent – Seablanket
Here’s a new ‘must read’ that I’m adding to my blogroll. I was reading seablanket during my break today after a very hectic and crazy day and it was a great way to relax and take a few minutes out before ploughing on with more work. I’m loving the DIY posts. You can find out how…

Today I’m inspired by…
Preserving memories. I’ve always admired my sister-in-law (an incredibly talented lady) who keeps a gorgeous journal for each of her children. She records their first words, humourous things they say, favourite toys…anything really. I love reading them and seeing what’s she’s added to them each time I visit and I know my neice and nephews…

Sunday night feeling…
Evening all, hope you’ve had a relaxing weekend. I’ve decided upon a new weekly feature for the blog called ‘Sunday night feeling’. I’ve been studying Elsie from Red Velvet’s e-course on blogging and regular features is something she recommends, so here’s one of mine. Sunday night feeling is my way to look forward to the week…

A day in the life of a teacher…
I know I don’t usually blog about my job but there are just some days that I can’t help sharing. Today was one of them. It was Roman day. 26 excited 8 and 9 year olds dressed up as Roman men, women and Gladiators. Throw in a wet play day due to the rain and…
